DIY Glitter Eyelashes
I love false eyelashes. I don't wear them regularly or for long periods of time, but I love them.
I enjoy taking photos and having a fun pair of lashes can really pull together a look.
Glitter eyelashes are everywhere, and super pretty, but can also get pricy at anywhere from $5 to $25 on up. I'm cheap and I'm crafty, so I decided to find a way to have glitter eyelashes and also have the option to remove the glitter and try another look.
For this brief how to I'm using elf lashes (that come with glue, bonus) that are only $1 and some craft glitter. A note on the craft glitter, if you plan on wearing these for an extended period of time, it is probably best to use makeup safe glitter, should some get in your eye.
For those familiar with false eyelashes and the glue you know that you can wash it off, well that concept comes in handy when using the lash glue itself to adhere the glitter to the tips.
I decided to use this teal-ish color for an upcoming mermaid look I'm going to do. This method can be used with glitter, rhinestones, glimmer powders, and even larger glitter accents.
First, I removed the lashes and used the side of the plastic to stick them to so that the tips would be free.
This makes it simple to do them both at once. I simply ran the lash glue across the tips of both lashes and then immediately sprinkled glitter over them and shook it off.
It's really that simple.
I let mine dry for a while before I use them.
Want to wash them for another look? Just use some gentle soap or shampoo and water and gently scrub them and let them sit out on a wash cloth or paper towel to dry and then start all over again.
I've done this with these pairs four or five times and there is no breakdown.
Look for the mermaid look with these lashes later this evening or tomorrow.

A quick post on nail art supplies.
Everyone has their little tips and tricks when it comes to nail art and I wanted to share one of mine.
I use a LOT of acetone and I hate having open bottles around thanks to my clumsiness. Enter a cheap glass ashtray.
I snagged this one at Dollar Tree. It not only safely holds acetone but it's also great for holding polish to mix or for dotting and such.
As you can see the notches where cigarettes (yuck) would go make fantastic brush holders.
If you do a lot of stamping, dotting, or brush based art this will probably be the best dollar you will spend.

Fantasy Makers Bewitching Eyes False Eyelashes + Deer Makeup
I have been obsessed with these lashes, they are just so pretty, but I have been unsure of what kind of makeup to pair with them.
Until I saw a picture of some lovely deer makeup, and it just seemed perfect.
They are pretty secure, especially considering that they are self adhesive. For those that aren't aware, these are an EXACT replica of the Paperself Deer & Butterfly lashes found here.
At $3.99 at my local Walgreens versus nearly $20 to order from Paperself, I'd say these are a great bargain.
In order to do the makeup I used mostly just general cosmetics, with the exception of white cream makeup for the dots and around the nose and eyes. Nothing beats the coverage of cream makeup when it comes to white.
This makeup was pretty quick and easy, something I'd definitely consider doing again.
These paper lashes do come in at least one other design, a spiderweb and spider design. I'm really hoping to see more of these in the budget market soon.

A couple of Halloween nail art contest entries.
I came across a couple of fun Halloween nail art contests online recently and decided to give them a try.
Both looks were done with 100% nail polish, no acrylic paints. Honestly, I loathe paints/sharpies being used in manicures.
Look #1: For Ms. Lizard's contest found here.
Look #2: For Short & Sweet in Texas' contest found here.
Both contests are still open and both blogs are lovely, give them a look.

Mish Mash Mani
This is one of those manicures that happens when I buy a few new things and I don't have the patience to wait to try them out and I just squeeze them all into one mani.
The new polishes that I picked up today were Take a Trek from the newest holo line from China Glaze, I snatched that up for $2.50 at Sally's Beauty Supply. I also grabbed Hard Candy's Jaw Breaker at Walmart. I love love love the new Hard Candy polishes, especially this little group. Jaw Breaker has black and white hex and round glitter as well as some lime green bar glitter. Sadly the green doesn't show up as much as I had hoped, but I'm thinking my navy base may have something to do with that. It's still great though.
I knew going into the China Glaze holo that these were fairly weak, and they are, so with the nearly gone sun and my aversion to artificial light I couldn't grab a picture of the holo flash.
I stamped on the skull using a plate from Mash, plate 29 to be exact.
I snapped a photo of everything that I used, and I'll list all colors below.
Base coat: Seche Clear. Colors: Sinful Colors in some navy blue that doesn't have a tag on it (sorry!), China Glaze in Take a Trek, Hard Candy in Jaw Breaker, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Green With Envy (not pictured, oops), Nail Art polish from Dollar Tree in gold, and my top coat is NYC In a New York Minute.
One more look at the Hard Candy glitter:
Until next time, thanks for reading!
Note: All items used in this post were purchased by myself.

Greetings,
No one should be reading this yet, but I have been intending to start a beauty blog for quite some time and have finally made the step of creating it.
I will post various things, just whatever I feel like sharing. Expect mostly makeup and nails, but I'm sure hair and clothing will make an appearance. There will be reviews from time to time. Lots of nail art, including tutorials, will be featured.
This will likely not be properly set up until this weekend, and that is when the first proper posts will come along as well.
